Landscapes

The undulating Devon landscapes where Andrew Miller was born and has spent his entire working life is a source of continuous inspiration. Often painting in all weathers from the exposed Tors of Dartmoor to the cliff tops and coves of the South Devon coast.

Military Paintings and Sketches.

In the summer of 2011 Andrew Miller flew to Afghanistan’s Helmand Province with the Royal Marines as their official war artist. During a 5 week tour from Camp Bastion to numerous villages and military outposts, Andrew Miller recorded all aspects of military life in his sketchbooks. On returning to Devon he worked on paintings that now hang in the Commando training centre at Lympstone and other Royal Marine bases, as well as in the homes and offices of former and current Marines.

Seascapes

The constantly changing weather and the effects of light cast on sea are a source of constant interest to Andrew Miller, from a dramatic winter storm to to people enjoying a summers day on the beach.

Portraits

Andrew Miller has produced privately commissioned portraits for decades, and for the Royal Marines since his time in Afghanistan.

Animals

Being from a Devon farming background animals have been a consistent presence in Andrew’s work since the beginning. From the start of his career as a wildlife illustrator through to today, producing large oil and acrylic paintings of horses, hounds and other native wildlife.
